The Borough Town on Portsmouth Harbour

Alverstoke Road

Street guide, Gosport

Alverstoke Road connects the Brockhurst area to Alverstoke village, running through the western residential parts of Gosport. It is a well-used route carrying traffic between the A32 junction area and the southern parts of the borough. The road passes through sections of varying character, from interwar suburban housing to more established Victorian properties as it approaches Alverstoke. Gomer Lane branches off towards Bay House School and the Stokes Bay area. The road is one of the main bus corridors serving Alverstoke and the surrounding residential streets. It has a straightforward residential character for most of its length, with front gardens and driveways typical of mid-twentieth century suburban development.
