Stoke Road is one of Gosport's main arterial routes, running south from the town centre towards Alverstoke village. It serves as both a residential street and a secondary shopping parade, with a cluster of independent shops, takeaways, and services along its northern section near the junction with the High Street. Further south, the road becomes more residential, lined with Victorian and Edwardian terraces and semis. The road passes close to Ann's Hill Cemetery and connects the town centre to the Alverstoke and Stokes Bay area. Bus routes use Stoke Road as a key corridor. It is one of the busier roads in the borough, carrying traffic between the town centre and the southern residential districts.
