Clarence Road runs through the eastern part of Gosport between the town centre and the harbour, offering some of the best views across Portsmouth Harbour towards the Historic Dockyard and the Spinnaker Tower. The road passes Clarence Yard, a former naval victualling depot that has been partly converted to residential use, retaining several listed buildings from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The harbour-facing properties enjoy exceptional waterfront positions. Clarence Road connects to the Millennium Promenade footpath and provides access to the harbour edge walking route. It is a quiet, pleasant residential street that benefits from its proximity to the water and the heritage buildings of the old naval supply yard.
