Elson Road is the main route through the Elson residential area in northern Gosport, running from the town centre northward towards the A32 and the Fareham boundary. The road carries a significant amount of through traffic, as it forms part of the route connecting the town centre to the only road off the peninsula. A small parade of shops, a post office, and several takeaways provide local services along the road. The housing is a mix of interwar council semis, Victorian terraces near the town centre end, and some later development. The road passes close to Priddy's Hard and the Explosion Museum. Bus services run frequently along Elson Road, connecting the northern estates to the town centre and ferry.
